After checking out the nearly dried up reservoir the Speedball's head for higher , BUT knarlier terrain with tighter & much rockier trails to navigate & conquer.

AS we went higher & HIGHER the terrain was near " BLACK RATED " trails like in the Hatfield McCoy Trails in West Virginia! I didn't get any photos of these white knuckled & A$$ puckering climbs , BECAUSE I was TOTALLY focused on NOT making a MISTAKE!!!!! LOL! It took 4x4 LOW & DIFF LOCK to successfully climb a few boulder infested hillclimbs ! KNARLY SH-T !! HE! HE!

Once on higher ground , the terrain was still quite rugged ! BLACK MUCK & BOULDERS were EVERYWHERE!!!!

Everyone tested thier skills as we navigated one boulder infested trail after another . Everyone on this late afternoon adventure had 4x4's & it sure was put to good use MANY times!

On the way back to Frackville, we descend the face of a reservoir , ford the lake & head up the far bank, the short but knarly way . As I navigate a very severly off cambered section , my thoughts automatically flash back to Brian & his heavily loaded Brute Force with stock tires & WONDER will he have a PROBLEM??????? As I & the others crest the top of the hill SOMETHING tells me to look back to see IF Brian successfully negotiated this treacherous section of trail??????? WHAT I see is a set of head lights VERTICAL & NOT horizontal & arms & legs flailing in the air !!!!!!!!!!!!!! TROUBLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I scream at Mike & Joe who are closest to HELP Brian! Within minutes the Brute Force is once again horizontal & Brian is OK & grinning from ear to ear ! LOL! TOUGH LITTLE NUT!!!! LMAO!

After a brief shower , we stopped by this beautiful mountain stream to view it's wonderous beauty & marvel in still yet another sight not seen by most atver's.

Speedy is the last to exit this wonderous mountain stream & with the far bank rutted & almost impassible , I'm forced to navigate the Brute Force upstream to a more easily accessible exit point.

With the skies getting darker & DARKER & thunder claps heard in the far distance , but getting close & closer by the minute , we make a bee line for Motel 6 in Frackville . Rain does not bother us , BUT thunder means lightning & that's NOT GOOD! Our pace becomes real brisk as the heavy drizzle turns to a steady , but light rain. Will we out run the BIG STORM headed our way???????

Everyone realizes the urgency of getting back to the trucks SOON , so the pace gets faster & FASTER as we attempt to outrun the impending SEVERE STORM headed our way. It's a collective sigh of relief from from all as we roll over the last dirt mound between us & the safety of our trucks. Mike & I manage to load & secure our quads onto our trailers before the storm HITS , BUT as the rain begins to come down in HARD TORRENTS, with HIGH WINDS , Brian & Joe can be seen still frantically lashing thier quads onto thier trailer! My K1500 Chevy truck is rocking from side to side by the sheer force of the severe thunderstorm unleashed upon us by " Mother Nature ". Soaked but safe , Joe & Brian finally load & secure thier trusty quads & with a soggy thumbs up , wave good-bye to Speedy & head for home.

Despite the last hour of nail biting due to the impending storm , everyone had a BLAST & vowed to return for our NEXT " Great Adventure " . We found MORE new trails & super rugged terrain that will hone our skills before our upcoming trip to Tenn. in June & Kentucky in October. With a happy heart knowing my fellow Speedball's had a blast atving today & were safely on thier way back home , Speedy heads off for that hot shower & some grub. Soon after that, the " Sandman " pays Speedy a visit & ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ's soon fill room # 11 of Motel 6 . Good-nite! Your AARP atv buddy!
