With rejuvinated bodies & spirits high , we
head out for Frackville & WHO knows WHAT????? It doesn't take us long to realize that it's NOT going to be a 2 1/2 hour
trip back to Frackville, BUT much longer! Speedy & his Susuki King Quad 4x4 with huge 26" lugged sneakers
spins & churns his way to the top of a really steep , boulder infested & crusty iced covered
trail, BUT no one else makes it! OOPS! NO matter how hard or many times they try, with motors wailing &
smoke rising from the burning rubber of Brian, Joe & Mike's 4x4 quads, this hill will NOT be conquered
today by this trio & their trusty quads! NO WAY!!!!! This will NOT be the LAST hill to fustrate & deny the same trio
of quads over the next 5 1/2 hours .
Speedy's winch gets
a SERIOUS workout as quad after quad is rescued from the grasps of these frozen Pa. mountains & it's
treacherous trails by the quad with those HUGE 26" sneakers! LOL! Huge hidden boulders in the snow, deep
ruts ( hidden by drifts), trees that seem to jump out of nowhere , buried stumps & more claim their victims
over the course of the afternoon ride. Speedy is just happy that he could aid his fellow atver's & make the day a
successful, safe & fun filled day!
As the
sun sets sets behind the western horizon, four tired & weary atver's glance at their odometers & see that we
all rode 80 miles over some of our most challenging terrain of our lives! WOW! During those last 5 1/2 hours
the crusty ice & snow combination thwarted us more times then ever before in conquering the obstacles we
encountered! BUT we still had a BLAST & can't wait to do it AGAIN!!!! YEHAAAAAAAAA! Let's RRIDE!!!
