In the Valley far below , you can stiil the coal mine conveyors taking the
coal down the mountain.
Dave's Z440 finally succumbed to the BRUTAL beating his Susuki was subjected
to & needed to be towed off the mountains for repairs IF possible???????
SOMETIMES when exploring , the trail either ends or due to fallen trees
, is closed , BUT either way , it's very tricky to get turned around ! OOOOOPS!
Paul heads back down the mountain in search of a trail that DOES go somewhere,
while Mike & Speedy make a knarly U-turn further up.

Mike & I descended into the valley below & got a good
look at an old mining operation. Five miners died in a mine explosion accident inside the SAME mountains we were
riding while we were there! Some of the funerals were held in Evarts where we park & rode from. It sure was
a SAD time for the locals.
Steve Loftis tied up Dave's badly crippled Z440 to his rear rack &
towed it almost 10 miles down the highway . Steve dropped the hammer & HAULED A$$ down the mountain with the ATV
& rider in tow! An old AARP guy like myself would have been scared o DEATH , but Dave Kuhn was young & dumb & grinning
from ear to ear! LOL! Luck was on our side , because a local welder reattached the Z440's lower a-arm &
ball joint & it held up for another two days of some MORE serious abuse!
